چکیده

This study examined heterogeneity in body weight development by identifying distinct developmental trajectories of body weight. These trajectories were further investigated by relating them to markers of low-grade inflammation later in life. Data from approximately 400 healthy volunteers from the Spokane Heart Study were collected in two-year intervals and four waves of data were available for the current analyses. Body weight was measured by Body Mass Index (BMI) and low grade inflammation by high sensitivity C-reactive protein (CRP) and fibrinogen. Contemporary statistical techniques – latent class growth models – were used to analyze heterogeneity in body weight and linear regressions were run to analyze possible associations between trajectories of body weight and CRP/fibrinogen levels. Six trajectories of BMI were identified (three stable trajectories, two increasing trajectories and a decreasing trajectory), which differed significantly on CRPand fibrinogen levels, highlighting the importance of weight trajectories. The differences were only partly explained by variations in lifestyle habits. The Spokane Heart Study | 57

اثر تمرین مقاومتی برسطح سرمی پروتئین واکنشگرC و فیبرینوژن در مردان معتاد به مواد مخدر

Objective: Addiction to narcotic drugs is associated with cardiovascular diseases; and increased levels of biomarkers, such as C-reactive protein and fibrinogen are independently correlated with the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effects of 8 weeks of resistance training on C-reactive protein and fibrinogen levels in drug addicted men. Method: In...

Effects of 12 weeks concurrent aerobic and resistance training on serum vaspin and C-reactive protein levels in obese middle-aged men

Introduction: Vaspin is a new adipokine which is a member of serine protease inhibitor family and might improve insulin sensitivity. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of concurrent training (aerobic and resistance) on vaspin, and C-reactive protein levels in middle-aged sedentary obese men. Materials and Methods: 20 sedentary obese men (age: 50.7 ± 2.1 years, the percent of bo...

Effects of prolonged swimming and football training programs on the C-reactive protein (CRP), homocysteine and fibrinogen concentrations in the serum of young boys

Introduction: It appears that some risk factors for coronary heart diseases (CHD) initiate their influence in the childhood period and their clinical complications start to take effect in adulthood. It is possible that adolescent active or sedentary boys, have other inflammatory silent risk factors of CHD, in addition to routine risk factors such as lipid profile. However, the scientific dat...

Background : The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of combined training program on C-reactive protein (CRP) serum and interleukin-6 (IL-6) plasma concentrations in sedentary men. Materials and Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, twenty sedentary men (23±2 years) volunteers (with no history of regular exercise program, weight deviation more than 2 kg, special disease and...
